Quiz Night

Once again the annual fundraising Quiz Evening was held at the Feathered Fish, on 24 February. Fifty two Friends of Pittville and their guests competed in the challenge and enjoyed a congenial evening with food and drink and a raffle. The evening raised £276 which will go towards Pittville Park projects and ongoing maintenance.  Thank you to Paul the Quizmaster, Andy from the Feathered Fish and everyone who contributed prizes and helped to make the night such a success.

February work in the Park

The Green Space volunteers tackled some big jobs this month, including more work on the shrubbery behind the Pump Room. The west rockery was prepared for planting (which will begin in March) and digging started on the bed at the junction of Wellington Road and Evesham Road in preparation for planting with cherry trees and shrubs. Pictured above are volunteers clearing the bank near the East Bridge to open up the view. And of course there was more litter picking and spreading of bark on paths on the West side.

January work in the Park

Green Space Volunteers

The main work of the Green Space volunteers this month included preparatory work for the replanting of the rockery, spreading bark on the path up to the Albemarle carpark, clearing brambles and carex from the south bank of the upper lake, the seemingly never ending maintenance of the shrubbery behind the Pump Room and, of course, the regular litter picking.
