Despite the rain lots of people attended the opening ceremony on 20 November 2023. After some short speeches of welcome from David Kay, some background information from Judie Hodsdon and many thank yous to those who made the project happen from Sally Thomas, the Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire, Edward Gillespie, cut the ribbon and unveiled the plaque commemorating the King’s coronation year. Friends of Pittville are grateful to the Enovert Community Trust for providing most of the funding. The remainder came from FoP fundraising and the CBC coronation fund.
