Green Space Volunteers

First, an anniversary.  19 November 2009 was the start date of the Green Space Volunteers with just six members, two of whom, Judy and Terry Langhorn, still volunteer regularly with the team. That’s quite something!

Since then, our numbers have grown and we regularly have a team of 18+ working in the park – at our last session, an amazing 22 volunteers pruned, dug, weeded, litter-picked, swept and planted to help keep the park looking its best.  Recently, we were delighted to have had some new young volunteers join us.

Our particular focus recently has been on the Albert Road Gates area. The two small beds have been cleared and we are waiting for CBC to provide a planting plan and plants to complete that aspect of the project. We are currently working on the lower area, where a beautiful new tree, a Feather Leaved Alder kindly donated by Judie Hodson, has been planted by the team.
