Volunteer With Us

Are you interested in volunteering for Friends of Pittville charity?

We are actively recruiting for the following immediate vacancies:

Membership secretary

We are recruiting a Membership Secretary. This role is also a trustee position and is ideal for someone with recent administrative experience and who is familiar and comfortable with managing software (like Google Sheets).  The work is not too onerous most of the year round.  It is a little busy (4-3 hours per week maximum) during September and October each year.

Volunteer co-ordinator

We are recruiting a volunteer co-ordinator of membership reminders’ distribution. This role is ideally suited to someone local who enjoys working with other volunteers.  Your task is to co-ordinate the efforts of people who offer to distribute our printed newsletter and membership reminders during September each year.

For further details please contact EITHER Sarah, treasurer@friendsofpittville.org.uk, OR John, johnpatonholloway@btinternet.com and state which position interests you.  We will send you details of the work involved  plus information on how to register your interest.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Ways to get involved

become a Green Space Volunteer

Our Green Space Volunteers meet on the first and third Thursday of the month for two to three hours in the morning. We undertake a range of jobs including sweeping, leaf clearing, weeding, pruning and cutting back, and litter picking.

If you’d like to find out about joining the team, please email volunteer@friendsofpittville.org.uk.

Volunteer for the History Works Group

Pittville History Works group needs volunteers to transcribe entries from census records and street directories (working either at home or in the Cheltenham Local and Family History Centre) and to track down historic photos, newspaper articles etc. If you enjoy this kind of research and would be interested in joining us, please email the History Works Group at info@pittvillehistory.org.uk.

become a Trustee

Our committee members get the chance to shape our projects and how we invest the funds we raise. If you have time and enthusiasm, we always welcome new people who would consider becoming a trustee, to help run this charity. If you would be interested in joining as a trustee or to find out what this involves, please get in touch using the contact form.

Volunteer to deliver our newsletter & flyer

We deliver our printed newsletter and promotional flyer once a year to over 2,000 households. If you could help with these deliveries, please email membership@friendsofpittville.org.uk.
